Dates for Walton Bridge work announced

Some more dates around work on replacing Walton Bridge have been confirmed.

Although the project is in its infancy, with just archaeological work undertaken so far, the scheme remains on target for the new bridge to be opened in June 2013.

It has been announced that the main construction work will start in January with the work expected to take 18 months.

So with the new bridge in place by June 2013, demolition of the old bridge will take place in July 2013 although completion of the project, to include issues such as landscaping, isn't scheduled until March 2014.
