There will also be a display stand in the Heart Centre on Monday (October 10) to mark the start of the awareness week and libraries across Elmbridge are offering free use of computer facilities to enable members of the public to access information and advice.
Sainsburys, Tesco, and Waitrose together with the members of the Business Network and all GP surgeries have been delivered a supply of information for their shops, staff and reception areas.
Christine Cross who is on the Partnership Board said: "This week is meant to raise awareness of the very important issue of Domestic Abuse and we need to get this message out loud and clear.
"One very simple initiative is for businesses to promote the telephone number 01483 776822 which is the 24 hour confidential service for the Surrey Domestic Abuse Helpline. We recommend placing the stickers on the inside of both staff and public lavatories, this can often be the place of retreat for those suffering from domestic abuse and may provide the lifeline for those in need.
"We also have a Sanctuary Scheme in Elmbridge which enables people experiencing domestic abuse but no longer living with their partner, to stay in their own homes if they wish by having security works completed in their properties ranging from basic improvements such as extra locks, right up to a full sanctuary room."
