Along with Long Service and Good Conduct awards, several Royal Humane Society (RHS) tributes were also presented to officers for their life-saving actions.
Sergeant Nev Parsons, PC Kevin Price and PC Ian Madelin all received an RHS Resuscitation Certificate and a Chief Constable's Commendation for their efforts in trying to save the life of a man PC Price pulled from the river at Walton on Thames after a fall in December 2009.
Another life-saving bid following an incident on the River Wey the previous month earned Inspector Simon Patter and PC Michael Paice RHS Testimonials after they decided to enter the cold and swollen river to try to rescue a man lying face down in the water.

Great work by our local police officers. We often forget all the good work the police do and the bravery involved. Good to see them getting recognition where it's deserved.
