Shout! Activities have once again proved popular
Accompanied by Janette Butler from P&G's Community Matters who sponsor the Shout! Holiday Activities, they visited the Hersham, Walton and Esher settings.
The Mayor saw children being taught break-dancing where they were learning some of the latest Diversity-style dance moves. The Mayor said: "There was never anything like this in my day. What a wonderful opportunity for the children in our Borough."
At the Activity Scheme at Bell Farm Junior School in Hersham the visitors spent time talking with the children and watching them making masks and playing rounders.
Afterwards, they went to the Xcel Leisure Complex to see children playing football and were pleased to hear that they receive expert coaching in rock climbing, trampolining and basketball among others.
"It is great to see children able to try so many different sports under one roof and have the opportunity to play at a top class facility which includes the synthetic turf pitch,” Cllr Cheyne.
"Shout! offers so many varied activities for children in the holidays and is truly a worthwhile and exciting programme. I am always interested in what we provide for young people and the Shout! courses give local children fantastic opportunities to do something different with their holiday time."
