I really enjoy coming to this pub whenever I'm in Walton, partly because of its location near the train station but also because it can be quite a cosy pub. Drinks are reasonably priced and the food is also pretty good.

After its facelift, I’ve heard mixed comments about the new look Ashley Park, one of the Ember Inn chain of pub/restaurants. I quite liked it – if any thing I’d have liked to have seen them go further. The new sign outside is ok, the olive green with grey and black seems to be a look a lot of pubs are going for these days. Inside the changes are slight. The section around the bar and to the right as you walk in looks nice – personally I’m not so bothered by these current craze in pubs to have book shelves with books never to be read on them. The menu is much the same and still decent value for the quality. However, I must report the sad demise of the seafood mixed grill – however the salmon on crushed new potatoes remains very good.
Ashley Park pub in Walton is good for a pint by my big favourite thing about it has to be the food.
Nothing fancy and the prices reflect this. My favs are the mixed grills. Meat is chicken, steak, sausage, gammon and may be more I cant remember but its a meat fest! Theres also a fish one with sword fish, prawn and lots more both are a tenner or under!
What good has the railways brought to Walton? Well its got to be the reason Ashley Park pub is where it is! Its a gem of a pub for a chain (well done Ember Inns). Its spacious shame it hasnt got more outside space at this time of year. But my big fav has to be the food. Nothing fancy and the prices reflect this. My favs are the mixed grills. Meat is chicken, steak, sausage, gammon and may be more I cant remember but its a meat fest! Theres also a fish one with sword fish, prawn and lots more both are a tenner or under!
