A Level students across the town will be waking up with hangovers this morning after celebrating or commiserating yesterday’s results.

At Rydens Sixth Form College the results showed an improvement on last year. Seventy eight per cent of students achieved A* to C, compared to 74.2 per cent last year.

More than £100,000 has been invested in the refurbishment of the sixth form block at the Hersham Road school in recent months.

Mario Scannello, Head of Rydens Sixth Form College, said the spending on the refurbishment was a demonstration of the serious commitment from the school to higher education. He added he was delighted again with the improving A and AS Level results.
